An original, completely handmade linocut bookplate which has been designed and printed in Devon, UK. Available singly or in a 3-pack.
These 'Rose of Providence' Ex Libris bookplates are based on various esoteric and ancient symbols, from Masonic 'all-seeing eyes' to heraldic Tudor roses and Arts & Crafts-inspired leafy flourishes.
Each bookplate has been hand-printed onto lovely white Japanese paper, which has then been hand cut.
DIMENSIONS: Total size: 3.75" x 2.65"
HOW TO: Preferably using a wheat paste or water-based archival glue (PVA or Elmer's Glue is fine), simply position and stick the bookplate on the front endpaper (the front board) of a book of your choice. Some people also prefer to just slip the bookplates inside the front page. There is a space at the bottom to write your name, plus a small area just above that where you can also complete the current year.
Important: I cannot guarantee that your printed item will be the exact one shown in the example photographs in the shop. As everything is handmade, there will inevitably be some slight variations with each printing; likewise coloured prints with hand-mixed inks may vary slightly in pigment between batches. This is all part of the charm and uniqueness of your purchase, as no two items will be exactly the same! If the paper has been cut or torn by hand, please also expect very minor differences in size.
