★ I have a shop and would like to stock your work! Do you accept wholesale?

Certain items in my shop may be suitable or available for wholesale. Please send me an email to discuss!

★ Do you undertake commissions?

Yes, I am happy to take on a select number of commissions a year. If you have a special project you would like me to consider, you are very welcome to send me a message. Please also take a look at my website and social media @rachelsnowdonstudio to ensure your ideas fit with my printmaking style and subject matter as this will help in deciding which projects to accept!

★ What inks do you use?

I use Cranfield Colours Caligo Safe Wash inks, which are oil-based but also washable. These inks are also used to print my fabric patches.

★ How do I care for the fabric patches?

The patches arrived unwashed but cured. They can be carefully hand-washed cool, or machine washed on a short, cold, delicate cycle. Line dry only! They will fade softly and very slowly over time, but this adds to their charm. The ink will not run or transfer, but for added security you can heat set it on the reverse (no steam). Most fabrics I use to print on will not bleed, but if they are naturally dyed, I will state this in the product description.

★ Is your practice eco-friendly?

It is vital to run my business as low-waste and environmentally sustainably as possible. I also primarily choose British makers and suppliers.

The grey-coloured lino I used to carve and print is fully compostable as it is made from wood pulp, rosins, hessian and linseed oil. I use inks which clean up with soap and water. Paper scraps are kept for smaller projects - never wasted. I use organic, natural fibres for any printed fabric items and these are sourced ethically from UK-based suppliers.

The business card and 'thank you' postcards or notes are uncoated, and so easily recyclable, but are also nice enough to be kept for display or shared with someone else (spread the word!)

For packaging I use paper tape, natural cotton string or twine, glassine paper bags, or clear film bags which are home compostable. Exterior cardboard mailers are compostable/recyclable, or have often already been used before - I encourage you to reuse them again!

★ What about your stickers?

The stickers are made in the UK and are vinyl-coated paper. This makes them tough and weatherproof for between 2 to 4 years if taken care of. Although I have not yet been able to source a more sustainable option that offers as much quality and longevity after purchase, I am absolutely committed to making that change once it becomes possible.
