An original, completely hand printed birthday card, which has been designed and made in Devon, UK.
The 'Victorian Birthday Cake' greetings card was inspired by the elaborate, bizarre but beautiful culinary creations of the 19th and early 20th century. It is printed in a delicious colour combination of spicy orange and lime green.
Each design comprises of two hand-carved 'blocks': one for the cake and one for the ribbon. These are individually inked and then printed onto heavyweight white card-stock. The reverse also includes my 'chop mark' or traditional signature stamp. Each envelope also has a hand-printed candle on the seal flap.
Oh, and did you know that the origins and lyrics to the Happy Birthday song dates to between 1893 and 1912 respectively? It makes this the perfect card for any vintage or history fan!
The card is blank for your own personalised message. Once the card has been opened and read, it could also then have a second life when framed on the wall as a unique piece of handmade art!
