'The Wheel of The Year' is an original, completely handmade multi-block linocut print which has been designed and printed in Devon, UK.

This illustration is my version of the cyclical seasonal celebrations that follow the ebb and flow of darkness and light over the course of a year. Within the imagery are contained eight holidays, or sabbats. These in turn are four solar festivals (Winter Solstice/Yule, Spring Equinox/Ostara, Summer Solstice/Litha, and Autumn Equinox/Mabon); and also four seasonal festivals or cross-quarter days (Imbolc, Beltane, Lughnasadh, and Samhain.)

I have chosen to keep the design entirely visual instead of adding text indicators. This is because not every aspect of the Wheel of the Year is observed by all witches and pagans; often practitioners celebrate only the holidays that align with their set of beliefs. Equally, I believe this image can be enjoyed simply as a seasonal celebration of the year for anyone appreciative of nature - regardless of their religion, practice, or background!

Important: I cannot guarantee that your printed item will be the exact one shown in the example photographs in the shop. As everything is handmade, there will inevitably be some slight variations with each printing; likewise coloured prints with hand-mixed inks may vary slightly in pigment between batches. This is all part of the charm and uniqueness of your purchase, as no two items will be exactly the same! If the paper has been cut or torn by hand, please also expect very minor differences in size.
