Material

An original, completely handmade linocut print which has been designed and printed in Devon, UK.

'WASSAIL!' is a four-colour multi-block linocut that honours and celebrates the glorious and ancient tradition of Wassailing, which falls into two categories: a Yuletide drinking ritual and salutation, and, on or around Twelfth Night and into February, a jovial celebration of cider orchards in which the purpose is to awaken the trees from their winter slumber, bring them luck and good health to ensure a strong harvest in Autumn, and to keep evil spirits from spoiling the crop.

Available in light green Japanese Kitakata Paper.

This print is an Open Edition (O/E), and each one is titled and signed by me. The papers have been hand-torn and so features at least one deckled edge.

DIMENSIONS:
Printed image size: 5.5" x 4.5" approx
Total size (incl. paper): 8" x 8"
The print/s are unmounted.

Important: I cannot guarantee that your printed item will be the exact one shown in the example photographs in the shop. As everything is handmade, there will inevitably be some slight variations with each printing; likewise coloured prints with hand-mixed inks may vary slightly in pigment between batches. This is all part of the charm and uniqueness of your purchase, as no two items will be exactly the same! If the paper has been cut or torn by hand, please also expect very minor differences in size.
