Do Right And Fear Not - 2025 Linocut Calendar - Limited Edition

'Do Right and Fear Not' is an original, completely handmade linocut 2025 CALENDAR which has been designed and printed in Devon, UK.

This calendar will be shipped perforated and folded.

The phrase is based upon those glorious and extremely curious 19th century punchwork or cross-stitch mottos that graced many a Victorian home. Often, these messages were religious, but there are many —of which this is one— that can be interpreted more openly, and simply as a call to positive action. With the world in utter turmoil at the moment, the desire to be a good person to oneself and to others, coupled with a reminder to be brave, bold, and steadfast - feels extremely relevant

I designed it precisely in two halves and perforated it down the centre. This means you get an A3 sized calendar, and when the year is up, gently tear it in half —or, fold it under— and you’re left with a perfect A4-sized print! Two purchases in one!

There are lots of lucky, positive, and protective symbols illustrated here:
• Wheat: nourishment, fertility/abundance, life.
• Four leafed clover: luck
• Hands: remembrance, friendship, love.
• Horseshoes: upturned, to hold your luck safe.
• Ferns: new life, new beginnings, humility, hope.
• Shells: resilience, protection
• Oak leaves & acorns: strength, endurance, wisdom, transformation.
• Apples: knowledge, love (& temptation), new year.
• Crescent & star: based on an Ancient Egyptian hieroglyph determiner for ‘month’ - so appropriate for a calendar!

VERSIONS AVAILABLE:
Peachy-orange on Oat Paper. This means there and natural flecks and bits of oat in the print itself. This is part of the charm and uniqueness of each print.
First Edition of 40.

This print is a Limited Edition of 40. It means that only a small number of each print is available, and once they sell out, they will not be printed again in these particular colours. Each one is numbered and signed by me.

Total size of unfolded calendar (incl. paper): A3 (11.7" x 16.5" approx.)
Folds up (or tears into) an A4 sized poster (8.3" x 11.7" approx.)
The print/s are unmounted.

Important: I cannot guarantee that your printed item will be the exact one shown in the example photographs in the shop. As everything is handmade, there will inevitably be some slight variations with each printing; likewise coloured prints with hand-mixed inks may vary slightly in pigment between batches. This is all part of the charm and uniqueness of your purchase, as no two items will be exactly the same! If the paper has been cut or torn by hand, please also expect very minor differences in size.
