These Christmas cards were inspired by the beautifully detailed festive cards and postcards of the Victorian era, as well as weird and wonderful 19th century 'scraps' which were die-cut paper images which adults and children alike used to collect and paste into scrapbooks.
This is a simplified printing of 'Wintersong,' an original linocut illustration featuring a singing robin perched delicately upon a hand, and surrounded by sprigs of holly and mistletoe. Printed in black ink, the design wraps around the card, enabling it to be framed afterwards, when the card has been read.
The reverse also includes my signature stamp. Each brown envelope also has a hand-printed holly sprig on the seal flap. The card is blank for your own personalised message.

Important: I cannot guarantee that your printed item will be the exact one shown in the example photographs in the shop. As everything is handmade, there will inevitably be some slight variations with each printing; likewise coloured prints with hand-mixed inks may vary slightly in pigment between batches. This is all part of the charm and uniqueness of your purchase, as no two items will be exactly the same! If the paper has been cut or torn by hand, please also expect very minor differences in size.
