Brittle Star - Drypoint Etching Print

'Brittle Star' is an original, completely handmade drypoint etching print which has been designed and printed in Devon, UK.

This print is a Limited Edition run of only 6 prints, which means once they are sold out, no more will be made. The beauty of a drypoint etching is in the differences in tone and texture due to the labour intensive inking and printing process, all of which I have done by hand, without a press. No etching will ever look exactly the same.

Each print is titled, numbered, and signed by me. They are printed onto sturdy white 250gsm Fabriano printmakers' paper, which has then been hand cut with one lovely deckled edge.

The design features an Ammonite and a Brittle Star, two popular fossils often found amongst the beaches and cliffs of Dorset, UK. These species are of the Mesozoic Era, which places them within the period that dinosaurs roamed the earth, and dates them to between 252-66 million years old!

Important: I cannot choose a particular edition number for you at request, or guarantee that your printed item will be the exact one shown in the example photographs in the shop. As everything is handmade, there will inevitably be some slight variations with each printing; likewise coloured prints with hand-mixed inks may vary slightly in pigment between batches. This is all part of the charm and uniqueness of your purchase, as no two items will be exactly the same! If the paper has been cut or torn by hand, please also expect very minor differences in size.
